Word of the Day 11/07/2012 - apophenia

apophenia n. the perception of meaningful patterns or connections where there are none

Evident in any sentences randomly chucked together by Dan Brown, Henry James, or Stephenie Meyer.

Also evident in all rapidly-learned superstitious habits like using a ‘lucky pen’ for exams, using a ‘lucky condom’ for random shags, or wearing your ‘lucky knickers’ when going on a blind date.
